I help people realize that personal finance means more than living within their means and knowing how to balance a checkbook.

Personal finance is not taught in the schools. Yet, people today are responsible for their retirement planning and are forced to make investment decisions that they have not been trained for. The two are like vinegar and oil - they don't mix.

I have 3 objectives:

1. To help people overcome their fear of finance and become better prepared to make the investment choices required in their company's 401(k) plan and retirement future.

2. To make people understand that they need to maintain control of their investments and not leave this job up to someone else.

3. To give a personal finance education to all children before they graduate.

What is Personal Finance?

Personal finance, by definition, is the application of the principles of finance to the monetary decisions of an individual or family unit. It addresses the ways in which individuals or families obtain, budget, save, and spend monetary resources over time, taking into account various financial risks and future life events.

Your personal finance skills dictate your life.  Poor personal finance skills will have you living from paycheck to paycheck and never seeing daylight.  On the other hand, the right personal finance strategy can make you rich! 

I strongly believe that the road to wealth is paved with goals.  These goals will help individuals and families obtain, budget, save, and spend monetary resources over time. 

Personal Finance has not been taught in schools. 

This is especially important because today’s graduating students have to make important decisions regarding money immediately out of school.  Since Corporate America no longer offers a pension, today’s graduates have to know about the different investment products such as mutual funds and stocks about one year after graduation.  New employees and seasoned employees are not taking advantage of the “Free Money” given away by their employees because they have poor personal finance skills.
